Job summary

Absolute Jobs is recruiting a Sheet Metal Worker for the DIKSMUIDE area. You will operate and set up machines for laser cutting, bending, nesting and rolling sheet metal, and perform basic admin tasks in the metal department.

We offer an attractive hourly salary (€17.12–€20.65), meal vouchers, and a transition plan to a 2-shift system while you gain experience and integrate with colleagues on day shifts first.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal processing, with laser cutting, bending, nesting and rolling.
• Valid forklift certificate is required.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work accurately.
• Dutch or English language skills.
• Technical education at A2 level, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up laser cutting, bending and rolling of sheet metal.
• Prepare programs and machine settings and verify proper machine function.
• Handle incoming sheets, check stock, and enter data into the system.
• Ensure finishing of parts including deburring and quality control.
• Independently move sheets and finished parts using a forklift.

For our client in the DIKSMUIDE area, we are looking for a SHEET METAL WORKER.

Since 1957, the company has been a leading metalworking company serving Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Northern France.

As a PLATE WORKER in the DIKSMUIDE area, your responsibilities will include:

• You will be flexibly deployed within the sheet metal department according to the needs of the planning;
• You operate and set up machines for laser cutting, bending and rolling sheet metal;
• You prepare the necessary programs and machine settings and check that the machines are functioning correctly;
• You perform some basic administrative tasks, such as receiving incoming sheets, checking stock and entering the information into the system;
• You ensure the proper finishing of the parts, including deburring and quality control;
• You independently move sheets and finished parts using a forklift.

• You will start working day shifts (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM), giving you the opportunity to get to know our way of working, machines and colleagues;
• In the long term, you will switch to a 2-shift system (early and late shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM);
• In addition to the 20 statutory days of annual leave, you will receive 12 extra days of leave;

What does our client in the DIKSMUIDE area expect from a new SHEET METAL WORKER colleague?

• You have experience in sheet metal processing and preferably have experience with several of the following techniques: laser cutting, bending, nesting and rolling;
• You have a valid forklift certificate;
• You can read technical drawings and work accurately;
• You speak Dutch or English;
• You have completed a technical education (A2 level), for example in mechanics or metalworking, or have equivalent experience.
