Job summary

Whale in Belgium is seeking a results-driven content and outreach specialist to own a publishing program designed to rank in Google, earn editorial links, and drive the AI content ecosystem. You will build repeatable processes for comparison pages, alternatives, vertical guides, and answer-format content that AI models cite.

You’ll focus on gaining high-quality links, ensuring pages align with search intent, and monitoring weekly referrals and organic sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience in cold outreach to earn editorial links.
• Proven ability to earn editorial links and citations.
• Understanding of AI content sources and where to place in each.
• Experience building repeatable AI content systems.
• Strong link quality mindset over raw traffic.
• Excellent organizational skills with multiple projects.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Own

• Authority through links. Earn editorial links from sites that already trust our competitors but have never heard of us.
• The content engine. Own a publishing program (comparison pages, alternatives, vertical guides, answer-format content) built to rank in Google and get cited in AI Overviews and Perplexity.
• Citations and mentions. Get Whale into the roundups, listicles, and high-traffic Reddit and forum threads that buyers read and AI models cite.
• On-page. Audit our high-traffic pages and keep them matched to current search intent.
• Reporting. Net new referring domains, AI-overview presence, organic sessions. Every Friday. No vanity metrics.

You’re a fit if you

• Know Ahrefs cold (Link Intersect, Content Explorer, Site Explorer).
• Have earned editorial links through cold outreach and can show results.
• Understand which sources AI pulls from (listicles, editorial mentions, Reddit threads) and how to earn a place in each.
• Have built repeatable AI content systems, not one-off posts.
• Think in link quality over raw traffic.
• Stay organized with a lot in flight: outreach pipeline, content calendar, on-page backlog.
