Vivid Resourcing, on behalf of a leading engineering client in Belgium, is seeking a Senior Verification Engineer to lead verification across software, electronics/hardware and mechanical systems.

You will own verification plans, develop automated tests in Python, and mentor junior engineers while driving root-cause investigations to ensure products meet defined requirements and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in a Verification/Test/Validation role.
• Strong experience with verification planning, test case definition and results analysis.

We are looking for a Senior Verification Engineer to take a leading role in ensuring that products meet their defined requirements, specifications and performance targets throughout the development lifecycle. You will take ownership of verification activities from planning through to execution and reporting, helping to establish robust verification strategies and ensuring that sufficient evidence is generated to demonstrate product compliance.

The role is highly multidisciplinary, involving the verification of software, electronics/hardware and mechanical systems. You will translate complex requirements into structured verification plans, test cases and campaigns, execute and review verification activities, and lead the investigation of failures and unexpected behaviour.

A key part of the position will be improving and developing automated verification using Python. You will identify opportunities to automate testing, develop scripts and test frameworks, and help establish efficient, repeatable and maintainable verification processes.

As a senior member of the engineering team, you will provide technical direction within verification activities, challenge test approaches where appropriate and work closely with software, hardware, mechanical and systems engineers. You will also support less experienced engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of verification methods, tools and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and define verification strategies, plans, test cases and test methodologies based on product requirements and specifications.
• Lead and coordinate verification and test campaigns, ensuring appropriate coverage of functional, technical, performance and reliability requirements.
• Execute and review verification activities across software, electronics/hardware and mechanical components.
• Analyse results, identify anomalies and lead root-cause investigations and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary R&D teams to resolve issues and verify corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain automated verification scripts, tools and frameworks using Python.
• Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, repeatability and efficiency through automation.
• Review verification results and provide clear technical conclusions and recommendations.
• Produce and maintain verification documentation, reports and traceability between requirements and test evidence.
• Support regression testing following design changes, software updates or hardware modifications.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of verification methodologies, tools and processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers where appropriate.
• Ensure verification activities provide clear evidence that products meet relevant quality, functional and technical requirements.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Several years of experience in a Verification Engineer, Test Engineer, Validation Engineer or similar role.
• Strong experience with verification planning, test case definition, test execution and results analysis.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary systems involving software, hardware and mechanical components.
• Strong Python skills, ideally with practical experience developing test automation, scripts or test frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead investigations into complex technical failures.
• Able to interpret complex technical requirements and translate them into robust verification methods.
• Experience with requirements traceability and structured verification documentation is an advantage.
• Able to take ownership of verification activities while working effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to provide technical input and challenge approaches where appropriate.
• A hands-on engineering mindset and willingness to investigate problems directly on the product or test setup.
