Avenga is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to lead design and implementation of scalable, high-performance technical solutions in Brussels. You will combine architecture, hands-on engineering, automation, and DevOps, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable delivery aligned with business goals.

You will mentor engineers, drive continuous improvement, and influence technology strategy in a dynamic, globally operating environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in technical architecture.
• Experience designing scalable, high-performance systems and automation workflows.
• Experience with cloud-native or distributed architectures.
• Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps/Continuous Delivery in cross-functional projects.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Architect to join the client’s on-site team in Brussels and lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance technical solutions. The role combines technical architecture, hands-on engineering, automation, and DevOps, with a focus on reliable solutions aligned with business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance and mentoring, and drive continuous improvement.

This is you

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in technical architecture, with relevant experience in software engineering, automation, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems, automation solutions, and robust workflows for testing, deployment, or infrastructure management.
• Experience building large-scale, cloud-native, or distributed systems.
• Extensive experience with Agile, DevSecOps, or Continuous Delivery methodologies in cross-functional projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent professional experience in the relevant technical domain.
• Strong hands-on programming skills and proficiency in core technical tools relevant to the role
• Knowledge of aviation domain-specific frameworks, platforms, methodologies, and foundational technologies required for the role.
• Experience with quality assurance, performance optimization, and integration with supporting tools.
• Previous experience in an Agile development environment, including the Microsoft toolset and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Located in Brussels or the surrounding area, with the ability to travel to the office three times per week.
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• English proficiency at C1 level is requiered, French proficiency at B1+ level is an advantage.

• Develop and implement optimized, high-performance, and maintainable solutions ensuring scalability, reliability, and quality.
• Design and improve automation systems, including comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer to other teams.
• Drive technical initiatives from design to implementation, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Present and justify technical solutions to stakeholders using clear metrics and performance indicators.
• Contribute to team discussions, technology strategies, and process improvements.
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams and support continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, including code and process reviews, where applicable based on experience level.
• Support effective team collaboration through strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage conflicts and oversee team performance.
• Consistently deliver high-quality solutions while meeting deadlines.
