Smarterminds is seeking a Senior System Architect to own the development and delivery of system architectural designs for HV inverter and electrified powertrain systems throughout the product lifecycle.

You’ll lead technical discussions with customers and cross‑functional teams, drive ISO 26262 safety activities, and coordinate root‑cause analyses to define robust system solutions. Travel is required; hybrid model with 3 onsite days per week.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive system development for HV Inverters, Power Electronics, or Electrified Powertrain Systems.
• Strong expertise in system architectural design and concept definition.
• Knowledge of HV inverter functions and electric propulsion systems.
• Experience with automotive customers and managing technical stakeholder discussions.

Responsabilités

• Lead technical discussions with customers and cross‑functional teams; drive System Engineers across Hardware, Software, Calibration, Safety and Test.
• Perform root-cause analysis to define effective system-level solutions.
• Drive Functional Safety activities including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA, and FTA in accordance with ISO 26262.
• Travel and participate in vehicle testing; hybrid: 3x onsite per week.

As Senior System Architect, you'll own the development and delivery of system architectural designs for HV inverter and electrified powertrain system functions throughout the product lifecycle.

You’ll lead technical discussions with customers and cross-functional teams, drive System Engineers and teams across Hardware, Software, Calibration, Safety, and Test, and perform rootcause analysis to define effective system-level solutions. You’ll also drive Functional Safety activities including Technical Safety Concepts, SFMEA, and FTA in accordance with ISO 26262.

Travel required, including participation in vehicle testing activities. Hybrid: 3x onsite per week.

Requirements

Must have

• Based in Europe and willing to relocate to Belgium
• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive system development for HV Inverters, Power Electronics, or Electrified Powertrain Systems
• Strong expertise in system architectural design and concept definition
• Strong expertise in HV inverter functions, motor control strategies, and electric propulsion systems
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety and High Voltage (HV) safety requirements
• Experience working directly with automotive customers and managing technical stakeholder discussions

Nice to have

• Experience with Polarion, JIRA, Enterprise Architect, and MATLAB/Simulink
