EPSA is seeking a Senior SCADA Applications Developer / Program Designer to join a skilled team responsible for mission-critical industrial systems operating 24/7 in the energy sector.

You will design, develop, and maintain SCADA applications for real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of energy assets and flexibility resources across European markets, ensuring system stability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in IT, CS, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience in industrial/SCADA environments.
• Experience with real-time, highly available systems operating 24/7.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and maintainable code.

We are looking for a Senior SCADA Applications Developer / Program Designer to join a highly skilled team responsible for developing and maintaining mission-critical industrial systems that operate 24/7 within the energy sector.

You will contribute to solutions that support real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of energy production assets and flexibility resources across multiple European markets. Working in a complex and fast-paced operational environment, you will help ensure system stability, operational continuity, and compliance with industry regulations supporting the energy transition.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain business-critical SCADA applications operating in real-time environments.
• Contribute to both backend and frontend development activities.
• Develop scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions following sound architectural principles.
• Apply software engineering best practices including SOLID, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI principles.
• Support applications involved in:
• Real-time monitoring of industrial and energy production assets.
• Data exchange between operational systems and external stakeholders.
• Automated control processes and operational optimization.
• Collaborate closely with analysts, architects, operational users, and technical teams in an Agile environment.
• Participate in production support and incident management activities after onboarding.
• Ensure safe deployment of changes to production systems with appropriate risk assessment and rollback strategies.
• Continuously improve development practices, system reliability, and operational efficiency.

Required Profile

• Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience developing applications in industrial and/or SCADA environments.
• Experience working with real-time, highly available, business-critical systems operating 24/7.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and maintainable code practices.
• Ability to analyze incidents, take ownership, and implement both short-term and long-term solutions.
• Strong awareness of system stability, operational risks, and controlled change management.
• Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Comfortable working in environments where reliability and availability are key priorities.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and take initiative to improve existing systems and processes.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Team player with experience working in complex organizations and cross-functional teams.
