Senior Research Engineer – Composite Structures and Processes

Our partner, a leading technological research center, is seeking a Senior Research Engineer to strengthen its simulation and composite materials design activities.

This key role offers the opportunity to develop innovative solutions in collaboration with experts in high-performance composites applications and digital development. You will be involved in collaborative and industrial projects aimed at advancing real-world modeling and sustainable materials.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to collaborative and industrial projects, delivering multi-physics simulation solutions for high-performance composite applications.
  • Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) and model laminated structures, accounting for non-linearity, contact, and failure criteria.
  • Actively participate in design space exploration and optimize processes for infusion, injection, and automated manufacturing.
  • Work closely with academic and industrial partners to anticipate future needs in high-performance materials and digital solutions.

Your profile

  • PhD in engineering or equivalent experience in simulation and solid mechanics.
  • Strong expertise in multi-physics modeling, finite element analysis, and composite materials.
  • Experience with long-fiber reinforced composites (UD, woven) and automated manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and optimization (a plus).
  • Innovative mindset and proactive in applying new trends in digital simulation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French and a team-oriented approach.
