Job summary

Harvey Nash Group in Brussels seeks a Senior Solution Architect to lead architecture for railway infrastructure applications and systems across the Belgian network, delivering enterprise-grade solutions with 24/7 operational support.

You will define, document and govern solution architectures, collaborate with engineering teams to modernize legacy systems, and apply ArchiMate modelling to guide integration, data and security decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in IT with solution architecture.
• Proven architect on production systems.
• Enterprise and solution architecture knowledge.
• Archimate modelling experience.
• Ability to design across business, data, apps and tech.
• Experience with multi-domain solutions.
• Distributed systems and microservices knowledge.
• Databases, data modelling and transactions.
• Cloud, containerization and deployment understanding.
• Security: authentication and secrets management.
• Resilience, performance and observability needs.
• Architecture reviews and risk assessment experience.
• Hands-on development recently.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and functional/non-functional needs.
• Define target solution architecture and governance.
• Design architectural scenarios with costs, risks and trade-offs.
• Define application, data, integration, infra and security architectures.
• Develop and maintain architecture roadmap and modernization plans.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise principles and cybersecurity.
• Identify gaps, dependencies, risks and transition needs.
• Guide teams during implementation and code reviews.
• Perform architecture compliance reviews and traceability.
• Create architecture models using ArchiMate, Sparx EA.
• Document decisions and support knowledge transfer.
