Jones Engineering Group in Charleroi, Belgium, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with an electrical background to join our delivery teams for a major Data Centre project.

You will provide commercial support to the construction team, manage subcontractor accounts, forecast turnover and cash flow, and ensure contractual compliance across the project.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics
• Data Centre experience preferable but not essential
• Experience in an Electrical role required
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Support construction team on all Quantity Surveying functions including contract obligations and reporting
• Identify potential commercial risks and report to management
• Prepare monthly progress applications with accurate remeasure, variations and claims
• Procurement support and contract administration with Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects and report trends to management

Senior Quantity Surveyor - Charleroi - 145207

Due to continued expansion in our Data Centre division, Jones Engineering require a Senior QS preferablywith an Electrical background to join the delivery teams for large Data Centre Project in Belgium. This Data Centre Project is in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior commercial staff members.

Responsibilities

To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
• Previous Data Centre experience preferable but not essential
• Experience in an Electrical role required
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
