ATCON GLOBAL in Brussels is seeking an experienced Python developer to design and implement backend services for asset onboarding, contract management, and market operations within renewable energy trading.

You will build APIs, data pipelines, and real-time data ingestion with messaging systems, work with PostgreSQL, AWS, and collaborate with product and domain experts in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years Python development experience.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL including time-series data handling.

Responsabilités

We are a team of business analysts, information system architects, software developers and data analysts, all working together to develop and maintain the systems supporting the operation and management of renewable energy systems, and the trading of renewable energy. By joining us, you will be working at the core of the development of renewable energy systems, directly impacting trading strategies, asset optimization, and renewable integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services in Python to support asset onboarding, contract management, and market operations.
• Develop APIs and data pipelines to integrate application components with the broader information ecosystem, such as other internal and external applications, the data hub and other data Storage systems and data consumers.
• Build integration with messaging systems (MQTT, RabbitMQ) for real-time data ingestion.
• Work with PostgreSQL for relational and time-series data modelling, optimization, and integrity.
• Leverage AWS services (RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, ECS and Docker).
• Collaborate with product managers and domain experts to translate business needs into scalable software features.
• Contribute to agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and team coordination.

Technical requirements

• Minimum 6+ years of Python development experience (application development).
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, performance tuning, and time-series data handling.
• Experience with AWS services (RDS, S3, IAM, ECS, and Docker).
• Understanding of energy trading concepts such as position management, day-ahead/intraday markets, and ancillary services.
• Experience working with APIs, data pipelines and streaming, and other system integration paradigms.
• Familiarity with agile development practices and collaborative delivery environments.

Nice to have skills

• Knowledge of power markets, specifically in renewable technologies (solar, wind, battery energy Storage system) and their specificities about contracting (Ppa), asset management and energy trading.
• Proven experience or willingness to quickly learn developing modern web user interfaces using React with UI styling approach as Jss, CSS-in-JS, Material UI, Emotion, Styled or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with FastAPI or alternatives (e.g., Flask, Django)
• Familiarity with container orchestration or CI/CD pipelines
