MEERAB GROUP in Belgium is seeking an experienced Python backend engineer to develop and optimize Python-based software applications. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define specifications, and address service requests with customers.

The role emphasizes code quality, testing, CI/CD, and mentorship of junior developers. You will work with DevOps, data engineering, and IT operations to ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions, in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• IT/tech-related academic degree (bachelor’s or master’s).
• 6+ years of experience in Development.
• 3+ years of experience using Python.
• Strong understanding of IT security requirements and their implementation ideally in the context of critical infrastructure
• Proficiency in Python for backend services, preferably with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Proficiency with data validation lib as Pydantic.
• Experience with AsyncIO.
• Experience in SQL.
• Experience with databases like MSSQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Strong understanding of service-based architectures and event-driven systems
• Solid conceptual knowledge of software design patterns, scalability, continuous integration practices
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks (e.g Selenium)
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to mentor and provide technical leadership.
• Experience working in agile environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Azure cloud is a plus.
• Experience in NoSQL solutions is a plus.
• Ability to work with legacy code and participate to refactoring initiative.
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker and deployment pipelines in a CI/CD environment is a plus.
• Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required, German is a plus.
