Umicore is seeking a Production Manager for the Specialty Metals Unit at the Antwerp/Hoboken site. You will lead daily operations, turning priorities into safe, cost-effective execution while coordinating with production, maintenance, process, logistics, quality, safety and environmental stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, chemistry or a related technical discipline, or equivalent expertise via experience.
• Minimum 5 years of solid operational experience in a complex industrial, chemical, metallurgical or refining environment.
• Strong process understanding with practical leadership in safety, environmental performance, quality, reliability and cost management.
• Experience with production management, planning, resource allocation, continuous improvement, budgeting and safety compliance.
• Ability to use data and structured problem solving to identify risks, make decisions and drive improvements.
• Clear, credible communication with different levels of the organization and alignment of stakeholders around priorities.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day operations of the Specialty Metals Unit, delivering targets in safety, environment, quality, productivity, cost and reliability.
• Translate production priorities into short- and mid-term operational plans with clear objectives and resource allocation.
• Monitor process performance, intervene when needed and ensure timely escalation and corrective actions.
• Embed safe ways of working and compliance with governance and legal requirements.
• Coach and develop the operational team, setting expectations and providing feedback for competence development.
• Build metallurgical, chemical and operational knowledge to improve process understanding and product quality.
• Coordinate communication with maintenance, process engineering, administration, operations and logistics for reliable execution.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization and data-enabled performance management.
• Initiate and support improvement initiatives, investments, start-ups and process changes in collaboration with engineering and R&D partners.
• Ensure asset availability and optimize maintenance costs in collaboration with maintenance.
