Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Beerse, Belgium, is recruiting a Senior Principal Scientist, Biostatistics to lead and advance innovative statistical methods across the development portfolio. You will collaborate with clinical teams and partners to identify hurdles and implement go/no-go decisions.

The role requires a Ph.D. in Statistics or related field, proficiency in SAS and R, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Statistics or related field with relevant experience.
• Proficient in SAS and R programming; familiar with East Horizon, RPACT, FACTS, Python.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Sound knowledge of biostatistics applied to clinical trials and model-based drug development.
• Experience with planning, running, and documenting simulations (clinical trial simulations).
• Knowledge of Bayesian methods and adaptive designs; causal inference.
• Travel anticipated to be <10%.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support broad implementation of innovative statistical approaches across the development portfolio.
• Engage key partners from different areas; identify hurdles for broader use of innovation in drug development and find solutions.
• Collaborate with external consultants and CROs to support innovative methods; participate in IDMCs as needed.
• Contribute to talent identification, hiring and development within SDS/SMMC groups.
• Provide and arrange training and presentations on innovative approaches across R&D; stay updated on trial designs and analysis methods.
• Maintain external visibility through collaborations, associations, and conferences; publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in meetings with Health Authorities to discuss innovative designs and analyses.
