WLG in Belgium seeks a senior engineer to run its public key infrastructure and shape the next generation of security services. You will install and maintain the PKI across a virtualised platform, networks, and hardware, while owning certificate status and revocation workflows.

You will lead deployment of the card management system, manage HSMs, and monitor logs, backups and restores to ensure service continuity for government and industry clients.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in cyber security or a closely related field focusing on security architecture or running demanding technical estates.
• Deep knowledge of modern networking and internet protocols, including security considerations.
• Hands-on administration across Windows Server, RHEL, and virtualization platforms (VMware).
• Scripting and automation: Python, PowerShell, Ansible.
• Experience with SSL/TLS/OpenSSL and SQL databases.
• Proven track record delivering into industry, government or military contexts.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure, and maintain the PKI and its components, including virtualised platforms, networking, and hardware.
• Run directory services, web services, and keep databases healthy.
• Own certificate status checking and timestamping to ensure revocation takes effect.
• Deploy and manage card management systems, including smart card enrolment and certificate issuance.
• Manage hardware security modules and firmware upgrades.
• Analyze logs, troubleshoot alarms, and monitor for unusual activity.
• Perform backups and restores and validate restore procedures.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support to authorities and customers.
• Design new components and write standard operating procedures for changes.
• Investigate network faults, security incidents, and performance problems.
• Support integration of security tooling and validate new environments.
• Write installation guides, baselines, test plans, and hardening guides.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and ops stakeholders.
• Willing to work outside office hours when incidents require it.
