Verhaert On-Site Consulting seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical development of medical devices, surgical tools, and packaging. You will drive from concept through prototyping, verification, validation and industrialization, acting as a technical anchor in a cross-functional team.

The role requires hands-on design with 3D CAD (Creo), V&V planning, and collaboration with surgeons and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in (Electro)mechanical, Mechatronic, or Biomedical Engineering
• 10 years of design and product development experience with 3D CAD
• 5 years hands-on prototyping and verification experience
• Experience with implantable medical devices is preferred

Responsabilités

• Mechanical design & development of medical devices, surgical instruments, and packaging
• Prototyping & CAD with high-quality 3D models and drawings; focus on DFM
• Lead engineering analyses, DFMEAs and design reviews
• Collaborate with clinicians, suppliers and cross-functional teams to optimize designs and prototype builds
• Own IP concepts and generate patent disclosures when relevant
• Oversee verification and validation activities to ensure safety and efficacy
• Maintain documentation compliant with ISO 13485 and MDR/FDA
• Mentor junior engineers and students; manage work packages and milestones
