Verhaert Masters in Innovation in Belgium seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical development of medical devices, surgical instruments, and packaging. You will drive from concept to validation and industrialization while collaborating with surgeons and suppliers in a hybrid Kruibeke/Antwerp setting.

The role requires a Master’s in related engineering and 10+ years of CAD-driven design experience, with preference for implantable device know-how and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in (Electro)mechanical, mechatronic, or biomedical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years in design and product development using 3D CAD.
• Minimum 5 years prototyping and verification of mechanical designs.
• Experience with implantable medical devices is strongly preferred.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical design and development of (electro-)mechanical hardware for medical devices.
• Create high-quality CAD models and drawings with a focus on DFM.
• Lead verification, validation, risk analysis, and design reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with surgeons, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
