iO Associates partners with a European space technology company expanding its engineering team to support spacecraft and space infrastructure programmes. A Senior Mechanical Engineer is sought for ownership of challenging mechanical design activities within a highly innovative environment.

The role focuses on leading structural and thermal analyses, guiding junior engineers, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across systems, electronics, and manufacturing to deliver from concept

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the space sector.
• Strong background in structural analysis, thermal analysis, finite Element Analysis (FEA), and mechanical design.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and provide technical leadership.
• Strong communication skills and experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous mentoring or coaching experience would be advantageous.
• EU citizenship is required due to project restrictions.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical design activities for advanced space hardware and subsystems.
• Perform structural, thermal and mechanical analyses to support spacecraft development.
• Conduct FEA simulations and validate mechanical performance against mission requirements.
• Support design reviews, technical decision‑making and engineering investigations.
• Work closely with systems, electronics, manufacturing and programme teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
• Support product development from concept through qualification and delivery.
