Job summary

Atos in Zaventem is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the Flemish Government account. You will design, build and maintain robust Java applications, APIs and microservices using Spring Boot while ensuring security, GDPR compliance and accessibility.

Fluent Dutch is required for daily customer/end-user communication, with English for international colleagues. You will collaborate in a multidisciplinary team, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and coach junior developers in an Agile setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Java development in enterprise environments.
• Fluent Dutch (written and spoken) required.
• Experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Ability to design, test and maintain secure, scalable back-end services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of GDPR and government service requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java back-end applications and REST APIs.
• Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code with focus on unit/integration testing.
• Ensure security, privacy, and accessibility requirements for government services.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, release planning and documentation.
• Collaborate in an Agile team and support junior developers.
