Yonderland, a European group of outdoor brands, seeks a senior backend engineer in Antwerp to design and implement scalable microservices. You’ll lead end-to-end backend features, ensure security and performance, and mentor junior engineers while integrating LLM AI capabilities into backend systems.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of backend software development experience.
• Deep expertise with Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate).
• Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• RESTful web services, web security, and HTTP knowledge.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, and cloud-native patterns.
• Hands-on AI knowledge: LLM APIs and AI inference endpoints.

Responsabilités

• Design and implement complex backend services, APIs, and integrations.
• Lead and own key backend features and cross-team initiatives end-to-end.
• Uphold code quality, testing, and performance across services.
• Apply privacy-by-design principles and ensure production-grade logging and monitoring.
• Drive refactoring and reduce technical debt, support incident diagnosis.
• Mentor junior engineers and engage with frontend, QA, DevOps, data, and product teams.
• Collaborate to translate technical trade-offs for stakeholders.
• Integrate LLM APIs and AI inference endpoints into backend services.
