Job summary

A multinational defence organisation near Brussels is looking for a Senior Project Manager to deliver communications and C4ISR projects, working under a principal project manager and stepping in for them when needed.

You will plan, run and close projects within scope, time, cost and quality, write business cases, allocate resources to milestones, track KPIs, and report forecasts for strategic planning. Strong communication and IT PM experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, plus either 3 years of relevant project management experience or 10 years of progressive PM experience.
• PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP, or equivalent proven experience.
• At least 3 recent years of project management in a large IT organisation.
• Experience with communications in C4ISR systems: planning, design, engineering, implementation.
• Knowledge of deployable CIS network design and switched multimedia networks.
• Clear, tactful communication and good briefing skills.
• A plus: C4ISR acquisition projects, ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow, an engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Plan, run and close assigned projects within scope, time, cost and quality.
• Write business cases, procurement strategies and statements of work to win funding.
• Allocate resources to milestones and correct course when things slip.
• Track project KPIs, risks, issues and cash flow, and report clearly.
• Feed accurate forecasts into annual and multi-year business planning.
• Lead project teams and meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Keep project plans and documentation accurate in the enterprise tools.
