DEME Group in Belgium seeks a senior Gearbox (Reliability) Expert who analyses mechanical failures at their root, through calculations, design evaluation and deep engineering insight, independently examining complex systems at system and component level.

The role focuses on understanding how mechanical systems are designed, function, fail and how to prevent recurrence, impacting long-term reliability of critical assets across the fleet and business units.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with civil engineering background.
• 10+ years experience in heavy mechanical engineering.
• Proven expertise in mechanical power transmission systems.
• Strong analytical mindset and independent working style.

Responsabilités

• Lead root-cause analyses for failures in power transmission systems.
• Assess and design structural solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Interface with maintenance, vessel management, OEMs and suppliers.
• Translate loads and stress analyses into design-level recommendations.
