Sphere Defense in Brussels is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to design and build autonomous countermeasures with high-performance firmware for MCUs/MPUs running bare-metal and RTOS. You will bring-up boards with the hardware team and implement robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability and low latency.

You will mentor colleagues, produce high-quality documentation, and contribute to testing strategies in a fast-growing, impact-driven group located in Belgium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or equivalent.
• At least 8 years in relevant roles with increasing ownership.
• Experience owning complex MCU/MPU-based systems running bare-metal and RTOS.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with device drivers development and board bring-up including BSP creation.
• Excellent technical documentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop autonomous countermeasures to protect allied countries from aerial threats.
• Architect and test firmware systems with sensing, processing and actuation components.
• Collaborate with hardware team to bring-up boards and ensure performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across firmware and hardware interfaces.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines focusing on QA aspects.
• Mentor teammates and support team goals.
