Sphere Defense in Brussels is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our core embedded team. You will design and implement firmware for MCUs and MPUs running bare-metal and RTOS, focusing on low-latency, reliable systems for autonomous countermeasures.

You will collaborate with hardware, bring-up boards, and the software stack, establish robust CI/CD, and contribute to documentation and test strategies while mentoring teammates in a high-ambition startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, CS, Robotics or equivalent.
• At least 8 years in a relevant role owning complex MCU/MPU systems running bare-metal and RTOS.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience with device drivers and bring-up.
• Experience designing autonomous, mission-critical firmware; strong documentation skills.
• Strong English communication; French or Dutch a plus.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop autonomous countermeasures firmware for MCUs/MPUs.
• Architect and test high-performance firmware with low latency.
• Collaborate with hardware team for board bring-up and validation.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve QA through CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to high-quality technical documentation.
