Bank Degroof Petercam SA is seeking a Financial Services Legal Counsel to reinforce its Legal Department in Brussels. The role reports to the Head of Legal and focuses on day-to-day banking and corporate law, regulatory implementation, and risk management across private and investment banking sectors.

The successful candidate will have a Belgian Master in Law, at least 5 years in-house experience in a financial institution, and fluency in French with knowledge of Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Belgian Master in Law
• Min. 5 years of relevant professional experience in-house within a financial institution
• Experience with data protection and IT/outsourcing in banking is a plus
• Fluent in French; good knowledge of Dutch & English

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day legal support to various teams and departments
• Advise on group strategic projects, including regulatory implementation
• Support Corporate Secretary, Compliance, Investment Banking, Private Banking on banking, financial and corporate regulations
• Draft, review and optimize legal and contractual documents
• Follow up on claims and litigation; monitor new banking and civil law developments; organize training
