Job summary

Aon plc in Brussels is seeking a Senior Facultative Reinsurance Broker to support the account management of major Belgian reinsurance placements. You will advise clients and prospects on the full spectrum of facultative services and help protect P&L and optimize client positions.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with the Belgium, Spain and Portugal teams, negotiate and place reinsurance covers, and develop the facultative book in Belgium while strengthening client relationships.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in insurance/reinsurance.
• Attention to details with analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work hard to achieve.
• Fluent English; another language is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Successfully negotiating and placing reinsurance cover of our existing book of business.
• Handling the Placement, Renewal and Servicing of facultative reinsurance related contracts.
• Drafting and reviewing presentations, contracts and other documents related to reinsurance.
• Expanding the existing Facultative book of business in the Belgium market.
• Strengthening the relationship with brokers and clients and managing commercial aspects.
• Focusing on business development to grow lines of business.
• Staying updated with product development, risk and capital management for commercial/technical aspects.
• Maintaining Aon’s relationships with associations and market players; attend events.

We are currently looking for a Senior Facultative Reinsurance Broker to support the account management of some of the largest reinsurance placements in the Belgium market. As a Senior Broker within the Facultative team of Aon Reinsurance Solutions you will be responsible for advising clients as well as prospects on the full spectrum of reinsurance services available. It is our job to assist our clients in maintaining and improving their business, protecting their P&L account and optimizing their position.

The position is based in Brussels (Belgium) and you will be working in a team of professionals on all lines of business in providing valuable products and services to our clients.

Within Aon, we work as a team. In your daily job, you will be supported by the Facultative team based Belgium, Spain and Portugal. The placement of the reinsurance cover is often done in close cooperation with a wider network of colleagues in the whole EMEA region.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Brussels office.

What the day will look like

• Successfully negotiating and placing reinsurance cover of our existing book of business.
• Handling the Placement, Renewal and Servicing of facultative reinsurance related contracts.
• Drafting and reviewing of presentations, contracts and other types of documents related to reinsurance.
• Expanding the existing Facultative book of business in the Belgium market
• Strengthening the relationship with retail brokers and with our clients and manage all commercial aspects of the client relationship.
• Focusing on business development, also in lines of business that we want to grow.
• Staying tuned and updated with product development, risk and capital management and finance for all commercial and technical aspects.
• Demonstrating that Aon Reinsurance Solutions is the leading reinsurance intermediary providing tailor‑made solutions.
• Maintaining Aon’s relationship with Professional Associations and other major market players and enhance Aon's presence in the market by attending seminars, insurer and reinsurer events.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• At least 5 years of experience in insurance/reinsurance business.
• Attention to details paired with analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to work hard to achieve.
• Confident knowledge of English plus knowledge of any other language is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of MS Office (Power Point, Excel)
