Aon Belgium is seeking a Senior Liability Broker to join its Liability team and advise senior clients on complex liability and insurance matters. You will analyze regulatory developments, translate them into practical solutions and manage a portfolio of large national and international clients.

You will review contracts, draft bespoke policies, coordinate renewals, and collaborate closely with insurers and colleagues across Aon’s network.

Qualifications

• Belgian Master’s degree in Law is required.
• 5+ years of professional experience as a lawyer or legal counsel with liability-related and contractual exposure.
• Experience or strong interest in construction, life sciences and environmental risks is a plus.
• French-speaking or bilingual French/Dutch; good Dutch and English for an international portfolio.
• Interest in translating legal knowledge into pragmatic insurance solutions.
• Highly motivated with teamwork and strong relationship-building skills.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with colleagues across Aon’s departments and practices; potential leadership within Liability team.

What your future may hold

As Senior Liability Broker, you will join Aon's Liability team and report directly to the Senior Manager Liability. You will combine your legal expertise with client advisory work.

You will manage a portfolio of large national and international clients and become a trusted advisor on complex liability and insurance-related matters. More specifically:

• You analyse legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on liability risks and insurance solutions. You go beyond the text of the law and translate legal developments into practical advice for clients.
• You advise clients on a broad spectrum of liability matters, including general and professional liability, construction-related liabilities, product liability and recall, environmental liability and sector-specific risks.
• You review commercial agreements entered into by Aon's clients and advise them on contractual liability provisions, risk allocation and insurance implications.
• You draft and negotiate bespoke insurance policies and clauses, often developing tailor-made solutions.
• You manage renewals and tenders and work closely with insurers to identify and negotiate appropriate coverage for your clients.
• You advise clients active in sectors such as construction, life sciences & pharma, healthcare, food and manufacturing, giving you exposure to a wide variety of legal questions and business environments.
• You work on international insurance programmes, coordinating master and local policies and collaborating closely with Aon's international network, risk managers and insurers.
• You maintain regular contact with clients at senior level and build long-term relationships based on expertise, quality and trust.
• You collaborate closely with colleagues across Aon's different departments and practices.
• Depending on your ambitions and development, you will have the opportunity to gradually assume a leading role within the Liability team.

Your skillset

• You hold a Belgian Master's degree in Law.
• You have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience as a lawyer or legal counsel with exposure to liability-related and contractual matters. Previous insurance experience is not required.
• Experience with or a strong interest in the construction sector, life sciences and environmental risks is an asset.
• You are French-speaking or genuinely bilingual French/Dutch. A good knowledge of Dutch and English is also important given the international client portfolio.
• You are interested in developing your knowledge of insurance and translating your legal expertise into pragmatic solutions for clients.
• You are highly motivated,striving for excellence, and willing to really contribute.
  You enjoy working in a team and have strong relationship-building skills both internally and with clients and insurers.
