Job summary

element61 is seeking a Senior Fabric Data Engineer to lead data platform initiatives built on Microsoft Fabric for clients. You own end-to-end data platforms from requirements to production, collaborating with business users to deliver reporting and AI-ready solutions.

You will design ETL pipelines, lakehouses, and data warehouses, develop semantic models for Power BI, and ensure governance with Purview. Experience with Fabric and Power BI is essential, and Azure cloud experience is highly

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a data engineer or in BI, with 2+ years in the cloud, preferably Azure.
• Hands-on data modelling and coding skills (SQL, Python, PySpark).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, and with the wider Microsoft stack: OneLake, lakehouses, semantic models and Purview.
• DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) is a plus, or you are open to obtaining it.
• You are a team player and able to explain technical choices to stakeholders.
• You reside in Belgium.
• Fluent in English, and either Dutch or French.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Fabric Data Engineer to join our Data Platform & Data Engineering Team . You work on multiple projects building data platforms on Microsoft Fabric for our clients. On those projects you are the Fabric reference : you define the architecture of the data platform and solutions, make decisions on how things are built and coach colleagues. You work close to the business : you help shape how data reaches business users, whether through Power BI reports, Fabric Apps or Fabric Data Agents and Copilot, and you build the platform with those users in mind. You will be surrounded by an exceptional peer group with deep experience in Analytics Engineering within the Microsoft & Databricks tech stack, so you will always have colleagues to spar with on the (technical) decisions you make.

Your responsibilities

As a Senior Fabric Data Engineer, you work hands-on to deliver data platforms that are ready for reporting and AI, and you own them from first requirement to production . Every mission we embark on will be a collaboration with the customer, where we translate their ambitions into concrete deliverables. Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines, lakehouses, and data warehouses in Microsoft Fabric using OneLake Develop semantic models that work well in Power BI , together with business users and the people who build the reports Establish data governance, lineage and access control with Purview Bring AI into the platform with Fabric Data Agents and Fabric IQ Translate customer questions into technical solutions, shape the solution design (data platform strategies and architectures) and implement it in Fabric Coach colleagues and client teams, and review their work

You have coached colleagues before, and you enjoy it 4+ years of experience as a data engineer or in BI, of which 2+ years in the cloud , preferably Azure, with ETL jobs you designed, built and maintained yourself Strong data modelling and coding (mostly SQL, Python, PySpark ) skills Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI , and with the wider Microsoft stack: OneLake, lakehouses, semantic models and Purview You use AI hands-on in your own engineering work and are keen to do more with it DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) is a plus, or you are open to obtaining it A team player and problem solver who is at ease with business users, turns their question into a design, switches easily between projects and explains technical choices to any stakeholder Enthusiastic about being part of a growing team & industry You already reside in Belgium You are fluent in English, and either Dutch or French
