Daikin Europe NV in Ghent, Belgium, seeks an experienced Senior Engineer for Multi-Family Buildings and District Heating/Cooling Networks. You will drive development, evaluation, and deployment of innovative heating solutions spanning building-scale to district energy systems.

You will collaborate with R&D teams, partners, and utilities to accelerate carbon-neutral heating and cooling adoption and contribute to next‑generation thermal networks and smart control strategies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience with multi-family residential heating and cooling systems.
• Strong knowledge of district heating and cooling networks.

Responsabilités

• Design and evaluate heating and cooling solutions for multi-family residential buildings.
• Develop concepts integrating heat pumps, thermal storage, renewable energy sources, and district heating and cooling networks.
• Assess the technical and economic feasibility of collective energy systems.
• Support pilot projects, demonstrations, and living labs related to district energy and building decarbonization.
• Analyze building energy demand, network performance, and energy flexibility opportunities.
• Collaborate with universities, engineering firms, utilities, and municipalities.
• Monitor trends, regulations, and market developments in district energy and decarbonization.
• Translate insights into technology roadmaps and new business opportunities.
• Support innovation and advanced development projects.
