Médiane Benelux is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Architect to review and modernize a complex software architecture in the defense sector. The role focuses on improving modularity, maintainability, and scalability of embedded software in a demanding technical environment.

Responsibilities include defining target architecture, guiding team members, and promoting best practices while collaborating with technical leads and stakeholders on-site for most of the week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in embedded software development and architecture.
• Strong expertise in C++ and Real-Time Linux.
• Experience with large-scale legacy software systems and design patterns.

Job Description

Our client, a company operating in the defense sector, is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Architect to support the review and modernization of a complex software architecture.

The objective is to improve the modularity, maintainability and scalability of embedded software products operating in a demanding technical environment.

Your responsibilities

• Review the existing embedded software architecture.
• Identify structural weaknesses, technical risks and improvement opportunities.
• Define a clear and sustainable target architecture.
• Support technical leads and developers in applying architectural principles.
• Promote software design standards and best practices.
• Participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Contribute to the modernization of large and complex legacy systems.

Profile / Requirements

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• At least 10 years of experience in embedded software development and architecture.
• Strong expertise in C++.
• Solid knowledge of Real-Time Linux environments.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and modular architecture.
• Experience with UML and/or SysML.
• Proven experience working with large-scale legacy software systems.
• Strong coaching, mentoring and technical leadership skills.
• Able to communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements

• Fluent French.
• On-site presence at least four days per week.
