Job summary

X4 Engineering in Belgium is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electrical design of customer-specific machines. This is a purely technical engineering role collaborating with electrical and automation engineering, production, and other multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of electrical engineering experience in machine building or industrial equipment, strong knowledge of EPLAN P8, and fluency in Dutch and English; UL, EN 60204, EMC,

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience within machine building / industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of EPLAN P8; Pro Panel is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations (EN 60204, EMC, LVD).
• UL requirements/regulations knowledge.
• Machinery Directive / Machine Regulation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design of customer-specific machines and take ownership of technical matters.
• Review schematics and support production during assembly.
• Collaborate with electrical and automation engineering, production and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Help improve and standardise electrical processes and guidelines with a strong focus on technical execution.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong hands-on experience in electrical engineering, ideally within machine building or industrial automation.

This is a purely technical engineering position, not a management role. The successful candidate will take ownership of the electrical design of customer-specific machines and work closely with electrical and automation engineering, production, and other multidisciplinary teams.

Key experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 5 years of electrical engineering experience
• Strong experience within machine building / industrial equipment
• Good knowledge of EPLAN P8
• EPLAN Pro Panel is a plus
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations
• Experience with UL requirements/regulations
• Knowledge of the Machinery Directive / Machine Regulation
• Experience with standards such as EN 60204, EMC and LVD
• A hands-on and practical approach to electrical design
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent or strong Dutch and English

We are looking for someone who is more experienced and hands-on, rather than someone focused on management or team leadership.

The engineer should be comfortable taking ownership of technical matters, working through project orders and electrical designs, reviewing schematics, and supporting production during assembly.

The role offers the opportunity to improve and standardise electrical engineering processes and guidelines, but the focus remains strongly on technical execution and engineering.
