Job summary

Optimus Search is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer / EPLAN Drafter for a Belgium-based, on-site role starting in November/December 2026. You will design, develop and maintain electrical drawings using EPLAN, collaborating with electrical and automation teams to meet project specs.

The position requires fluent Dutch and the ability to work independently in a Dutch-speaking environment, commuting to Belgium five days a week.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with EPLAN (ideally EPLAN Electric P8).
• Background in electrical design, drafting or engineering.
• Experience producing schematics, wiring diagrams and documentation.
• Strong understanding of electrical components, control panels and industrial systems.
• Fluent or professional Dutch is essential.
• Ability to work independently and with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for experienced Electrical Design Engineers / Electrical Drafters with strong EPLAN expertise to support an exciting engineering project based in Belgium.

The successful candidates will be responsible for producing, developing and maintaining electrical drawings and technical documentation using EPLAN, working closely with engineering and project teams.

This opportunity is ideal for technically skilled professionals with a strong background in electrical design who are comfortable working in a Dutch-speaking engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modify electrical schematics and technical drawings using EPLAN.
• Produce detailed electrical circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and electrical layouts.
• Create and maintain electrical engineering documentation and technical plans.
• Work closely with electrical engineers, automation specialists and project teams.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation meet project specifications and relevant technical standards.
• Review and update existing electrical designs where required.
• Support engineering teams with technical modifications and design improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation in Dutch.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven professional experience working with EPLAN (ideally EPLAN Electric P8).
• Strong background in electrical engineering, electrical drafting or electrical design.
• Experience producing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Good understanding of electrical components, control panels and industrial electrical systems.
• Fluent or professionally proficient Dutch – essential.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Must be able to commute to Belgium, five days per week.

What We're Looking For

We are interested in speaking with both experienced Electrical Design Engineers and hands-on Electrical Drafters who have practical EPLAN experience.

Candidates must be comfortable working in a fully on-site engineering environment and producing technical drawings and documentation in Dutch.
