Description du poste

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you play a leading role in solving complex electrical challenges across DEME’s fleet of offshore and dredging vessels. You combine technical expertise with strong project management skills to prepare, coordinate, and deliver electrical upgrades, maintenance campaigns, and improvement projects on some of the world’s most advanced vessels.

This is not a sailing or crew position. You will work primarily from our Belgian headquarters, where you prepare, coordinate, and manage technical projects for our vessels. Sporadically, you will travel to a vessel, shipyard, supplier, or project location to perform assessments, support implementation, or oversee critical project phases.

Working across multiple vessels, you ensure electrical systems remain safe, reliable, and future‑ready while contributing to the continuous improvement of our offshore and dredging operations. As a senior member of the team, you will not only provide technical guidance but also take ownership of projects from preparation through execution.

Y** our responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and execution of electrical maintenance, repair, retrofit, and improvement projects across our fleet of offshore and dredging vessels.

  • Develop technical solutions, work methods, budgets, resource plans, and safety documentation for electrical works on vessels.

  • Manage electrical projects from concept to implementation, ensuring quality, budget, and planning objectives are achieved.

  • Coordinate with vessel crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Analyze recurring electrical failures and identify opportunities to improve the performance and reliability of vessel systems.

  • Support procurement activities by providing technical expertise during supplier selection and contract negotiations.

  • Conduct technical assessments and site visits on board vessels to evaluate electrical systems and define project scopes.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, automation, reliability, and operational specialists.

  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and innovations relevant to modern offshore and dredging vessels.

Your profile
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • 10 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within maritime, offshore, industrial, or heavy asset environments.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, drives, automation, and control systems.

  • Experience managing technical projects and coordinating multiple stakeholders.

  • A hands‑on engineer who combines technical depth with a pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset.

  • Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Comfortable working across a diverse fleet of offshore and dredging vessels and adapting to varying technical challenges.

  • Willing to travel occasionally to vessels, shipyards, suppliers, or project locations worldwide.

Our offer
  • The opportunity to work on complex electrical projects across a highly advanced fleet of offshore and dredging vessels.

  • Significant ownership and project responsibility within a senior engineering role.

  • A challenging and innovative international environment where you can make a tangible impact.

  • Extensive opportunities for technical and professional growth.

  • A people‑oriented culture focused on wellbeing, collaboration, and continuous development.

  • An attractive mobility program supporting a healthy work‑life balance.
