Job summary

SEIDOR is seeking a Senior Database Engineer to join our team remotely. The role focuses on designing and maintaining data models, building scalable database schemas, and ensuring performance, security, and reliability across complex ecosystems.

You will translate business requirements into robust database designs, implement advanced SQL solutions, and lead data migration, backup, and recovery efforts while documenting everything for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data modeling and schema design.
• 15+ years with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• 15+ years developing SQL solutions (PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL).
• 10+ years with database testing frameworks.
• 10+ years tuning database performance (queries, indexing).
• 5+ years with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Cosmos DB).
• 5+ years in backup, recovery, HA, replication, clustering.
• 10 years writing structured technical documents.
• 10 years delivering technical presentations.
• 10 years adopting evolving database tech into architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data models across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance database schemas.
• Implement and optimize DB solutions using DDL, SQL, SPs, functions, and triggers.
• Translate business needs into effective database designs.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate database components.
• Prototype and validate DB solutions with stakeholders.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize DB performance.

Requirements

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?

Bachelor's or Master's degree.

• 15+ years of experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) and schema design using database development tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, SQL Workbench, or equivalent.
• 15+ years of experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle) including database release and change management.
• 15+ years of experience developing advanced SQL solutions, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and database programming (e.g., PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL).
• 10+ years of experience with database testing frameworks and designing automated, repeatable tests for database logic and data integrity.
• 10+ years of experience in database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
• 5+ years of experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra, Cosmos DB, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in database backup, recovery, high availability, replication, and clustering strategies.

Specific requirements:

• 10 years of experience in writing structured technical documents.
• 10 years of experience in delivering technical presentations for varied type of stakeholders.
• 10 years of experience in adopting evolving database technologies and integrating them into existing architectures.
