Contact One Communications, Inc. is seeking a database engineer to manage on-premises and cloud SQL environments in Belgium. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining data collection, transformation, and integration across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate holds active NATO SECRET clearance and has deep expertise in SQL Server, HA/DR, Azure, and NoSQL databases, with scripting and automation skills to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Active NATO SECRET security clearance required.
• Expert SQL Server administration and performance tuning.
• Experience with HA/DR using Always On, Failover Clustering.
• Cloud experience with Microsoft Azure databases.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB.
• Scripting in PowerShell, T-SQL, or Python.
• IaC, CI/CD, and database deployment automation.
• Containerized/VM-based environments; observability tools.
• Data governance, security, and compliance adherence.
• Lead technical investigations and incident resolution.

Responsabilités

• Manage installations, configurations, upgrades, and backups of database systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration processes across multiple on-premises and cloud RDBMS platforms
• Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Develop automation tools, scripts, and workflows for database administration, monitoring, maintenance, and operational reporting.
• Produce dynamic reports and standardized templates to support database configuration management, performance monitoring, and lifecycle tracking;
• Support database migrations and modernization initiatives involving Azure and other cloud database services.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to ensure optimal database performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Establish and maintain data governance and quality standards within reporting and integration processes;
• Stay current with database technology roadmaps, contributing to continuous improvement of lifecycle management, security, and data reliability.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architectural designs, and support runbooks.
