Pauwels Consulting is assisting a client in the insurance sector to hire a Senior Data Analyst in Antwerp. You will design scalable data models and semantic layers, and drive self-service analytics by building robust data solutions.

The role requires leadership in data modeling, collaboration with engineers and business stakeholders, and mentoring the analytics team. Hybrid work with at least two days onsite, ASAP start, for a 6‑month engagement.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in senior data roles (Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer).
• Advanced production experience with DBT (modeling, testing, documentation).
• Expert-level SQL for complex data manipulation and analysis.
• Extensive Power BI experience, building datasets and semantic models.
• Strong dimensional modeling knowledge (facts and dimensions).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of Git, data contracts and CI/CD in Agile/Scrum.
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management with ownership mindset.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

This role focuses on delivering reliable, reusable data solutions that drive strategic decision-making and support a robust self-service analytics environment.

• Translate complex business needs into consistent, scalable data models and semantic structures.
• Design and implement robust dimensional models within the gold layer using DBT.
• Establish and enforce standards for data modeling, documentation, naming conventions, and version control.
• Integrate diverse data sources into coherent, high-quality models while ensuring data consistency.
• Partner with data engineers and business stakeholders to bridge the gap between technical implementation and business requirements.
• Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and technical maturity through coaching and mentoring within the team.

• You have 8+ years of experience in senior data roles such as Data Analyst or Analytics Engineer.
• You possess advanced production experience with DBT, covering modeling, testing, and documentation.
• You bring expert-level knowledge of SQL for complex data manipulation and analysis.
• You have extensive experience with Power BI, with a specific focus on developing datasets and semantic models.
• You possess a thorough understanding of dimensional modeling, including facts and dimensions.
• You have experience working with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
• You bring knowledge of Git, data contracts, and CI/CD workflows within Agile or Scrum environments.
• You possess strong analytical and stakeholder management skills with the ability to take independent ownership.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English.

Nice to Haves

• Experience within the insurance sector.
• Certification in PL-300 – Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
