Within EY’s International Tax Services (ITS) group, we support our multinational clients (inbound and outbound) in achieving their operational goals in a tax effective manner. Through our international network of ITS colleagues across the globe, our support covers international tax matters in all countries needed. In the fast changing international (tax) landscape, we use our expertise to ensure that our client’s legal structure and operation model are continuously structured in a tax effective manner, working closely together with Belgian and/or foreign colleagues from other (sub) services lines (transfer pricing, advisory, etc).

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Autonomously write standard advice and prepare more complex advice for Belgian and foreign based companies in respect of Belgian and foreign tax matters, incl. cross border tax matters, and get them approved by an executive. These tasks need to be delivered within the set deadlines. If issues arise you will pro-actively report this.
  • Accompany executives in client meetings or in meetings with the tax authorities and have client contacts autonomously in view to get the right information to realize the tasks.
  • Participate in preparing the writing of proposals and assist with the preparation of external publications or seminars.
  • Gain a good understanding of the Belgian income tax aspects relevant in an international context (treaties, WHT, FTC, PE, MAP, EU Directives, …).
  • Stay up-to-date regarding market changes and develop a broader knowledge around your client portfolio.
  • Maintain long-term collaborative and profitable relationships with your client and pro-actively identify and inform of possible new missions or opportunities in the existing portfolio
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with your colleagues of the team and supervise work (quality, workload, …) of juniors and escalate observation to the executive
  • Actively participate to the training and coaching session of your development plan and be responsible for the development of your own technical knowledge.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in law or economics potentially with a supplementary degree in fiscal matters
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in national and international corporate tax matters
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Dutch or French. Next to that, you are fluent in English
  • Dynamic, innovative & problem resolution focus with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player with project management capabilities.
  • Able to work autonomously in the delegated responsibilities.
