Job summary

imec is seeking a Principal Architect - Compute Systems to lead architecture and design across CPU, GPU, NPU, and accelerators. You will drive ideation to productization, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multiple imec centers in Belgium and beyond.

The role focuses on high-maturity compute architectures, performance modeling, and cross-domain integration, with active engagement in CSA and imec leadership activities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronics/CS or related fields.
• Hands-on compute architecture/design experience.
• Experience from ideation to productization in architecture/design.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define novel compute architectures.
• Lead feasibility studies through performance modeling and prototyping.
• Coach and develop the team toward higher maturity levels.
• Stay updated with advancements in compute system architectures across domains.
