Job summary

UCB is seeking a Principal Computational Methodologist to advance AI, machine learning, and computational methods in clinical development. You will design, validate, and deploy models that support biomarker discovery, trial design, operational efficiency, and patient experience.

You will lead cross‑functional teams across countries, mentor colleagues, and publish results while ensuring scientific rigor, regulatory compliance, and scalable tool development.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant scientific field.
• Experience in pharma or regulated life sciences environment preferred.
• Strong programming and mentoring skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI/ML projects for clinical development, biomarkers, and operations.
• Design, build, test, and refine deep learning models for text, graphs, sequences, and clinical data.
• Develop generative AI applications using foundation and large language models.
• Run rigorous AI experiments on internal/public datasets to generate publishable results.
• Partner with engineering to package methods into scalable applications and platforms.
