Job summary

ThoughtLabs is actively seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a long-term European Institution project in Arendonk, Belgium, with hybrid on-site work (Wed & Thu). The role focuses on Snowflake data warehousing, dbt transformations, and Kimball dimensional modeling, delivering high-performance data pipelines and robust data governance.

You will own the design, development, and optimization of analytics pipelines, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage AI tooling to enhance data

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Data Analytics/IT or related field.
• 5+ years in data warehousing and big data pipeline development.
• Strong Snowflake architecture knowledge and dbt proficiency.
• Deep SQL programming and advanced query tuning skills.
• Kimball modeling experience and star schema design.
• Git version control with CI/CD deployment automation.
• Excellent English communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Hybrid on-site in Arendonk, Belgium (Wed & Thu).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable Snowflake data warehouses.
• Develop data transformation pipelines using dbt.
• Write advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and data scripts.
• Implement Kimball dimensional models (star schemas).
• Manage Git and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Explore AI tools (Copilot, Cortex) to accelerate pipelines.
• Monitor pipeline execution and troubleshoot bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with data science, BI, and project stakeholders.
