Role purpose

Are you a driven procurement professional who loves making an impact in a dynamic environment? DESOTEC is looking for you. As a Senior Buyer Indirect, you’ll work closely with colleagues from different departments, acting as a bridge-builder within the organization. You communicate effectively and persuasively with internal and external stakeholders and think both strategically and operationally. You thrive on challenges and juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Sourcing goods and services: Analyze market trends, understand cost structures, and actively seek new suppliers to secure favorable purchasing conditions.
  • Negotiating agreements: Negotiate contracts and terms within your mandate, aligning with internal procedures and internal customers. Establish strategic agreements such as service contracts and framework agreements to ensure continuity.
  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, organize meetings, and explore alternative solutions proactively.
  • Contract management: Monitor contract performance using KPIs and act as the primary point of contact for suppliers. Coordinate administrative processes to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Administrative processing: Manage quotations and purchase orders through an ERP system and work with Microsoft Office. Prepare management reports to provide procurement insights.
Profile
  • Technically skilled: Master’s degree with an affinity for technical aspects.
  • Experienced professional: At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or supply chain. Recent engineering graduates with the right soft skills are welcome to apply.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented: Structured work style with strong numerical and planning skills.
  • Independent and results-driven: Ability to manage projects autonomously and experience in negotiations.
  • Multilingual communicator: Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French, German, or other languages is a plus.
  • Tech-savvy: Proficient in MS Office and contributing to the implementation of the ERP system Dynamics F&O.
