Conessence, a Belgian entity of a global manufacturing group in Ghent, seeks a Senior Business Controller to drive financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic decision support in a dynamic, international environment.

You will perform in-depth P&L and risk analyses, translate data into actionable reports, optimize working capital, and support investment projects (CAPEX/M&A). A strong business partner mindset and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in finance, business administration or related field.
• At least 4 years of finance experience, preferably as controller or business partner.
• Strong analytical skills to translate data into strategic insights.
• Fluent in Dutch (written and spoken).
• Excellent communication to present complex concepts clearly.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.

• Conduct in-depth analyses of P&L, ROCE, and risk management for market segments.
• Translate financial data into clear reports and presentations with strategic insights.
• Optimize working capital and monitor risks related to positions and raw materials.
• Manage planning: forecasts, annual budgeting, and strategic planning up to EBIT.
• Contribute to key investment projects: CAPEX and M&A with financial input.
• Collaborate with Reporting Factory to enhance reporting tools and accuracy.
• Act as a strong business partner supporting market segments and strategic decisions.

For one of the Belgian entities of a global manufacturing company in the port of Ghent, I am lookiung for a Senior Business Controller. This role requires a strong financial professional with extensive controlling experience and the assertiveness to challenge stakeholders and optimize business performance. You will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic decision-making in a dynamic and international environment.

• Conduct in-depth analyses of P&L, ROCE, and risk management for specific market segments, identifying trends and growth potential;
• Translate financial data into clear reports and presentations, providing strategic insights and recommendations;
• Optimize working capital and monitor key risks related to accumulated positions and essential raw materials;
• Manage the planning process, including periodic forecasts, annual budgeting, and strategic planning up to EBIT level;
• Contribute to key investment projects, including CAPEX and M&A, by providing financial expertise;
• Collaborate with the Reporting Factory to enhance reporting and analysis tools, ensuring consistency and accuracy;
• Act as a strong business partner by supporting market segments and facilitating strategic decisions with financial insights.

Must-haves:

• You hold a master’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field;
• Acquire at least 4 years of experience in finance, preferably as a controller or business partner;
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills to translate financial data into strategic insights;
• Communicate fluently in Dutch, both written and spoken;
• Possess excellent communication skills to present complex financial concepts clearly;
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.

Nice-to-haves:

• Have experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems.
• Speak English or French in addition to Dutch.
• Show a proactive mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• Bring experience in investment analysis, CAPEX, or M&A.
