Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Technical Lead to modernize a clinical data ecosystem for a leading biopharmaceutical client. You will act as the technical counterpart to implementation partners, ensuring architectural quality, governance, and scalable data layers.

You will review designs, enforce Azure and Databricks standards (Unity Catalog), manage risks, and drive data governance including metadata, lineage, and data contracts. Hybrid work with Brussels-based location preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data platform and cloud architecture.
• Deep expertise in Azure Cloud Architecture and Azure Data Services.
• Strong technical knowledge of Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Proven background in Database Architecture and data integration patterns.
• Extensive knowledge of Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
• You have experience implementing Data Contracts and managing technical delivery risks.
• You bring solid technical leadership and vendor management experience.
• You possess a strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles.
• You are fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Review and challenge technical designs and architecture proposals provided by implementation partners.
• Ensure solution alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and cloud standards.
• Oversee the implementation of Azure environments and Databricks platforms including Unity Catalog.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, and release management processes throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Lead data governance initiatives focusing on metadata management, data lineage, and data contracts.
• Coordinate technical discussions between vendors and cross-functional internal stakeholders.
