KPMG Law Belgium is seeking an (Senior) Associate Public Law to work on a broad portfolio of administrative and public law projects, with a focus on public procurement. You will guide public authorities through procurement, draft tender documents, assess bids, and support award decisions, while aiding companies during and after tender procedures.

Qualifications

• Belgian Master’s degree in Law, preferably with a specialization in public law, and 4-6 years of relevant professional experience, including in public procurement.
• Admitted to the Brussels Bar.
• Excellent command of Dutch, both written and spoken, and a good working knowledge of French and English.
• Strong analytical and writing skills.
• Collaborative team player with client orientation and independence.

(Senior) Associate Public Law

You will work on a broad portfolio of administrative and public law projects, with a particular focus on public procurement.

You will guide public authorities through the procurement process, from providing ad hoc advice to drafting tailored tender documents, assessing the regularity of bids and supporting the award decision. You will also assist companies during and after the tender procedure.

Beyond public procurement you will also advise on other types of public contracts, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), on local government legislation and a wide range of administrative law questions.

In addition, you will support the team in representing clients in litigation and administrative proceedings.

You will attend internal and external meetings and build and maintain strong client relationships. You will manage matters in close collaboration with junior team members, whom you will coach and support.

The nature of the (public law) work conducted by the team requires our team members to perform thorough legal analyses without losing sight of the specific (commercial) needs of our clients. Skills & Qualifications

You hold a Belgian Master’s degree in Law, preferably with a specialization in public law, and have 4-6 years of relevant professional experience, including in public procurement.

• You are admitted to the Brussels Bar.

You have an excellent command of Dutch, both written and spoken, and a good working knowledge of French and English.

You are eager to learn and are ambitious to develop further expertise in the legal fields mentioned above.

You have strong analytical skills and writing skills.
