Baker McKenzie in Belgium is seeking an AML and Compliance Specialist to serve as the primary day-to-day AML resource for the Belgian offices, guiding lawyers and business support teams on AML and broader compliance matters.

The role combines hands-on AML delivery with advisory responsibilities, including CDD/EDD reviews, ongoing monitoring, policy updates, training development and delivery, and support for risk assessments, audits and regulatory reviews, with a high degree of autonomy and clear

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Law, Business, Finance, Compliance or related field.
Strong experience in AML, compliance, risk or regulatory roles.
Experience in regulated environments such as law firms or financial institutions.
Solid knowledge of Belgian AML/CTF and related obligations.

Responsabilités

Advise lawyers and business teams on AML obligations for onboarding and ongoing monitoring.
Independently manage routine AML and compliance matters and escalate complex issues.
Carry out CDD/EDD, beneficial ownership, source of funds and wealth assessments.
Assess higher-risk clients and transactions and provide risk-mitigation recommendations.
Support AML sanctions and financial crime risk assessments and regulatory reviews.
Develop and deliver AML and compliance training and guidance.
