Job summary

Internationale Deutsche Schule Brüssel (iDSB) seeks an IT professional to manage daily operation and development of the school’s ICT infrastructure to support high-quality education and efficient administration. You will advise on improvements, maintain security, coordinate with external specialists, and document systems across Germany and Belgium.

The role collaborates with teachers and staff and becomes more critical as the school grows.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years relevant IT experience.
• 1st Level support experience for a small to medium organization.
• Expertise in Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows 10 and network technology.
• Experience with selection and implementation of new hardware or software.
• Able to communicate with partners with limited IT background when proposing new solutions or changes to existing solutions.
• Ideally some project management experience.
• Proactivity - you find issues before they find you, eager to push things forward.
• Problem solving skills and hands-on mindset.
• Client oriented mindset; self-organized but also a teamplayer.
• Languages: solid knowledge of English; basic German; French and / or Dutch desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of the School’s ICT infrastructure.
• Maintain hardware and software components (Servers, Antivirus, Backups, wired/wireless networks, Firewalls, video conference equipment, endpoints, telephony).
• Ensure security of IT systems with patches, configurations and updates.
• Ensure services are available during school hours (7:30–17:30) and outside hours as needed.
• Manage school-provided mobile devices (laptops, tablets, smartphones).
• Create and maintain documentation of ICT systems and network architecture.
• Advise on system changes or new products to improve the IT landscape of the school.
• Coordinate with external specialists as appropriate for the school.
