Puratos is seeking a Safety & Belgium Fire Protection Engineer to join the Health, Safety & Environment team at Groot-Bijgaarden. You will combine hands-on safety expertise with fire protection excellence for our Belgian operations, spanning production, warehousing, lab, bakery and office environments.

The role focuses on leading safety programmes, managing fire protection systems, and guiding CAPEX projects, while fostering a proactive safety culture across sites.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent technical/scientific qualification is required.
• Certified Prevention Advisor Level 2 is required or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of Health & Safety experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Autonomy and hands-on approach with problem-solving mindset.
• Fluent in Dutch with good knowledge of French and English.

Responsabilités

• Lead and continuously improve safety and prevention programmes across the Groot-Bijgaarden site.
• Manage and optimize fire protection systems including detection, sprinklers, extinguishing and gas detection.
• Act as regional BeOps Fire Protection Expert supporting Belgian sites with audits and guidance during projects.
• Perform risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analyses and preventive action plans.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities and drills with authorities and fire brigades.
• Deliver impactful safety training and foster a proactive safety culture.
• Drive safety governance of CAPEX and engineering projects from concept to commissioning.
• Report monthly and yearly safety performance and action plans.
