Job summary

LCL Belgium is seeking a Prevention Advisor & Environmental Coordinator to lead safety, wellbeing and environmental matters across our Belgium sites. You will translate legal requirements into practical solutions and work hands-on on site with Operations, Projects and HR teams.

You will perform risk assessments, site inspections, and oversee contractor safety, while ensuring audits for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.

Qualifications

Level 1 or 2 Prevention Advisor and Level A or B Environmental Coordinator.
Strong understanding of Belgian workplace wellbeing legislation, Flemish environmental regulations and permit requirements.
Willing to develop knowledge of Walloon regulations too.
Experience in industrial/technical/infrastructure environments including contractor and workplace safety.
Ability to independently carry out thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
Experience with critical infrastructure, construction or technical installations is a major asset.
Familiar with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Pragmatic and solutions-focused, owning and following through on actions.
Fluent in Dutch and English with good command of French.
Willing to travel between sites in Belgium, including wind turbine sites.

Responsibilities

Advise management, employees, Operations and Project teams on safety, wellbeing and environmental matters.
Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections; investigate incidents and ensure follow-up actions.
Oversee contractor and construction-site safety through safety walks and site visits; ensure permits to work are respected.
Review relevant risk and safety documentation and support SIMOPS risk assessments.
Monitor environmental legislation, permits and permit conditions; provide environmental advice.
Help manage environmental risks involving waste, water, soil, emissions and hazardous substances; coordinate inspections and reporting.
Ensure risks and legal requirements are addressed early and handed over to operations.
Contribute to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits, KPI monitoring and continuous improvement.
