VIB invites a motivated lab professional to join the Flow Core Leuven team. The role focuses on enabling access to Flow cytometry-based technology and expertise, maintaining equipment, and supporting researchers with data analysis.

You will train users, manage stock, and contribute to QC programs while working in an international environment. Strong English communication and independence are valued in this fast-evolving facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in life sciences or engineering with lab experience.
• Experience with flow cytometry, FACS, and related software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in an international environment; strong communication in English.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and quality control Flow Core equipment daily.
• Assist in stock management, data management, and QC program.
• Train users on analyzers and FACS machines.
• Assist researchers with acquiring, analyzing, and presenting their data.
• Report daily to the Head of Flow Core.

The VIB Flow Core Leuven is a state-of-the-art facility at Campus Gasthuisberg with FACS analyzers, cell sorters, and gentle cell separators. The VIB Flow Core inLeuven plans to add a motivated staff member to support the team in enabling access toFlow cytometry-based technology and expertise.

Main activities

• Managing the daily maintenance and quality control of all Flow Coreequipment.
• Assist in stock management, data management, and the QC program of the facility.
• Train the users on the analyzers and FACS machines.
• Assist researchers with acquiring, analyzing, and presenting their data.
• Report daily to the Head of Flow Core.

Profile

• Professional bachelor in life sciences or industrial engineer with previous lab experience
• Experience with flow cytometry, FACS, and analysis software (e.g. FlowJo) is a plus
• Mindset for supporting and enabling science of other research labs through offering of expertise
• Technology minded
• Can work independently
• Team player with strong social, communication, and didactic skills
• Compelled to work in an international environment
