A logistics real estate leader located in Belgium is seeking a Product Owner Automation. In this role, you will be responsible for developing automation solutions and ensuring they deliver real value to customers. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in automation and technology-driven environments, along with strong business and financial acumen. • Ability to operate at system and portfolio level, connecting technology, real estate, and customer value.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences, combined with sound commercial awareness.
• Excellent team player with strong communication skills in Dutch, English, and French.
• A proactive problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine can-do attitude.

• Building and validating business cases for automation initiatives and shaping these into a scalable product offering.
• Acting as a strategic partner for customers and commercial teams on automation readiness.
• Leading and coordinating automation initiatives with various internal and external partners.
• Overseeing the implementation, testing, and rollout of automation solutions at building level.
• Monitoring market trends and translating emerging technologies into scalable solutions.

Here’s what you’ll be up to

As Product Owner Automation at WDP, you report to the Group Head of Project Development and take end-to-end responsibility for delivering automation solutions to customers. You ensure that WDP can offer automation as a product with tangible added value for clients, aligned with the company’s strategy.

You are responsible for:

• Developing and supporting WDP’s automation solutions for customers within the context of providing total supply chain infrastructure solutions (smart buildings).
• Identifying automation opportunities within the logistics real‑estate portfolio in collaboration with the commercial teams.
• Defining automation‑ready building standards that enable customer automation solutions, together with the development team.
• Building and validating business cases (ROI, lifecycle costs, value impact) for automation initiatives and shaping these into a scalable product offering.
• Acting as a strategic sparring partner for customers and commercial teams on automation readiness.
• Leading and coordinating automation initiatives with business development, property management, energy & sustainability, and external partners.
• Overseeing the implementation, testing, and rollout of automation solutions at building level.
• Monitoring market trends and translating emerging technologies into scalable and future‑proof solutions.
• Proven experience in automation, engineering, building technologies, or technology‑driven project environments.
• Strong understanding of automation concepts and systems, such as building automation, robotics, energy systems, logistics automation technologies, or smart building solutions.
