Puratos in Belgium is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Lab Assistant for Sprouted Grains & Soft Grains to support development from prototypes to pilot-scale trials. You will prepare, test and evaluate sprouted and soft grain solutions, run experiments, record results and contribute to sensory evaluations, collaborating with R&D colleagues and bakery applications teams across countries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Biosciences, Chemistry or a related field.
• Hands-on interest in food product development and understanding of food-processing principles.
• Strong sensory awareness and willingness to evaluate products critically.
• Practical and accurate working style, able to follow procedures and document results.
• A collaborative mindset working with R&D, bakery applications and international teams.
• Good command of English; Dutch/French is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and execute lab and pilot trials for sprouted and soft grains.
• Support product and process development by following experimental designs.
• Perform basic physico-chemical checks (pH, viscosity) and coordinate analyses.
• Evaluate taste and texture through sensory panels and testing sessions.
• Record, analyze and report trial results clearly.
• Collaborate with test bakers, R&D colleagues and international stakeholders.
• Maintain an effective and safe lab environment and improve daily ways of working.
